Ovigil 5000iu – Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG)

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is most often referred to as HCG. The female body natural produces it when a woman is pregnant. The cells that create the placenta for the fetus are where it is located. This offers nutrients for the egg as soon as it has been fertilized by the sperm. It is very important for the growth and development of the fetus during the first trimester.

Reasons to use

The body doesn’t always produce enough HCG though, and that is when it needs to be added in a synthetic form. While the use of it is typically for women who need help getting pregnant, it may be prescribed for men struggling to produce enough testosterone. In some instances where a patient needs to rapidly lose weight, HCG may be given to help stimulate that and to reduce appetite. The calories are restricted to about 500 per day for several weeks. The patient is kept under close medical supervision.

Bodybuilders often use HCG along with a stack of anabolic steroids. This helps them to keep their testosterone levels higher than they would be. They do have to be careful though of the estrogenic side effects that can come with it. How it will affect them depends on their dosing and the other items in their stack.

Dosing

HCG is given in an injectable form. The dose will depend on the patient and their needs. The dose is carefully assessed and determined by the doctor. It is important to stick to the scheduled injection dates and times. To reduce soreness around the injection site, it is a good idea to route where it is injected.

For women trying to get pregnant, the amount of HCG may be increased over time. If a woman goes through several menstrual cycles and doesn’t become pregnant, a larger amount may be required to further increase that chance. For males using it for low testosterone, it may be taken at a low dose for the long term. Sometimes, there is an underlying health issue that requires them to take it for a short period of time, long enough to allow the body to start producing enough testosterone on its own again. For bodybuilding, the dose is higher and will run for the cycle duration.

Possible Side Effects

There can be an array of side effects when a person starts using HCG injections. The higher the dose, the more severe they will be. They tend to go away after a few weeks, once the body has time to adjust to it. At low levels, the body isn’t going to know the difference between the synthetic amount and the natural production so it won’t cause problems. Possible side effects include:

  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Swelling of the hands or feet
  • Pain at the injection site

Precautions

Males taking HCG may develop tender breast tissue. This can cause soreness around that area and the breasts may become enlarged if it is used for a long time at a high dose.  It is important to keep the dose of HCG low if you need to take it for the long term. If you don’t get the product by prescription, there is a risk it will be counterfeit. Be very selective when you purchase it on the black market. Verify who you are getting it from and what they offer.

Drug Interactions

HCG tends to do well with most medications and over the counter products. However, you need to be careful when you stack it with anabolic steroids. Solid knowledge of what goes well with each other and the dosing of each is very important. Too much HCG can increase side effects and it can do more harm than good.
